About Snoreguard

What is Snoreguard?

Snoreguard is a custom-made oral device designed to stop snoring. It’s a type of mandibular advancement device (MAD) that works by gently repositioning your lower jaw forward during sleep. This forward position helps keep your airway open, preventing the soft tissue collapse that causes snoring.

Unlike generic anti-snoring products available in pharmacies, each Snoreguard is individually crafted to fit your unique mouth. We take precise impressions of your teeth and gums, then create a device that fits comfortably and securely. This personalised approach is what makes Snoreguard effective where other solutions have failed.

How does Snoreguard stop snoring?

Snoring occurs when your airway becomes partially blocked during sleep. As muscles relax, the soft tissues in your throat — including your tongue, soft palate, and uvula — can collapse backward, narrowing the airway. When air passes through this restricted space, it causes these tissues to vibrate, producing the sound of snoring.

Snoreguard addresses this by holding your lower jaw in a slightly forward position while you sleep. This prevents the tongue and surrounding tissues from falling back into your airway. With the airway kept open, air flows freely and quietly — no vibration, no snoring.

The device fits around your teeth and stays in place throughout the night. It’s a simple, mechanical solution that works with your body’s natural anatomy rather than against it.

How is Snoreguard different from devices I can buy at the pharmacy?

The key difference is customisation. Pharmacy devices are generic, one-size-fits-all products designed to fit as many mouths as possible. The problem is that no two mouths are the same. A device that doesn’t fit your mouth precisely won’t position your jaw correctly, reducing its effectiveness. It’s also likely to be uncomfortable, which means you won’t wear it consistently.

Snoreguard is made specifically for you. We take detailed impressions of your teeth and gums and craft a device that matches your unique anatomy. The result is a comfortable, secure fit that holds your jaw in exactly the right position to keep your airway open.

We’ve also developed four different device designs to address different causes of snoring. During your consultation, we assess your particular situation and recommend the device most likely to work for you. This targeted approach is simply not possible with off-the-shelf products.

Do you have different types of Snoreguard devices?

Yes. Because people snore for different reasons, we’ve developed four specifically targeted device designs. Each addresses different patterns and causes of snoring. During your consultation, we’ll assess your situation — the anatomy of your mouth and throat, your snoring pattern, any related symptoms — and recommend the device most suited to your needs.

This isn’t a case of choosing whichever looks most appealing. We’ll guide you to the right solution based on our assessment of what’s causing your snoring.

Comfort and Fit

Is Snoreguard comfortable to wear?

Comfort is central to our design philosophy. We know that the most effective anti-snoring device in the world is useless if you don’t wear it. That’s why every Snoreguard is custom-made to fit your mouth precisely — a device that sits naturally against your teeth and gums is far more comfortable than a generic alternative.

Most people find Snoreguard comfortable from the first night, though there’s typically a brief adjustment period as you get used to having something in your mouth while you sleep. After a few days, many clients report that they barely notice the device is there.

Unlike a CPAP mask, there’s nothing on your face, no straps around your head, and no machine noise. You can speak, drink water, and move naturally during the night.

How long does it take to get used to wearing Snoreguard?

Most people adapt within three to five days. During this initial period, you might be more aware of the device in your mouth, and your jaw may feel slightly different in the morning. This is normal and typically resolves quickly as your mouth adjusts to the new position.

We recommend wearing the device every night from the start, even if it takes a few days to feel completely natural. Consistent use helps your mouth adapt more quickly and ensures you’re getting the full benefit of the device.

Will Snoreguard make my jaw sore?

Some people experience mild jaw discomfort during the first few days of use. This is similar to the feeling you might have after a dental appointment and typically resolves as your muscles adapt to the new jaw position.

If discomfort persists beyond the initial adjustment period, contact us. Sometimes a small adjustment to the device can make a significant difference. We’re committed to ensuring your Snoreguard is as comfortable as it is effective.

Can I wear Snoreguard if I have dentures or missing teeth?

It depends on your specific situation. Snoreguard requires sufficient natural teeth to anchor the device securely. If you have partial dentures or some missing teeth, we may still be able to help — it depends on which teeth are present and their condition.

If you wear full dentures, Snoreguard may not be suitable. However, we encourage you to book a consultation so we can assess your situation properly. We’ll give you an honest opinion about whether we can help and, if not, suggest alternative options you might explore.

Can I drink water while wearing Snoreguard?

Yes. You can take sips of water during the night without removing your Snoreguard. The device doesn’t prevent you from swallowing normally. Many people keep a glass of water by the bed and have no issues.

The Process

What happens during the consultation?

The consultation is a chance for us to understand your situation and for you to learn whether Snoreguard is right for you. There’s no obligation and no pressure.

We’ll ask about your snoring history — how long it’s been a problem, how severe it is, whether anyone has noticed you stop breathing during sleep. We’ll discuss any treatments you’ve tried before and how they worked (or didn’t). We’ll also ask about your general health and any relevant medical conditions.

We’ll then examine your mouth and throat to understand your anatomy. Based on this assessment, we’ll give you our honest opinion about whether Snoreguard can help and which of our four device types is most appropriate for your situation.

If you decide to proceed, we’ll take impressions of your teeth during the same visit. If you’d prefer to think about it first, that’s absolutely fine — there’s no pressure to decide on the spot.

How long does it take to get my Snoreguard?

Once we’ve taken your impressions, your custom device is typically ready within one to two weeks. We’ll contact you when it’s ready and arrange a fitting appointment. During this appointment, we’ll ensure the device fits correctly and show you how to use and care for it.

Most people are sleeping better within a few weeks of their first consultation.

Is the consultation really free?

Yes, absolutely. The initial consultation is free with no obligation. We believe in giving people the information they need to make an informed decision. If Snoreguard isn’t right for you, we’ll tell you honestly — and there’s no charge for our time.

Effectiveness and Results

Will Snoreguard definitely work for me?

While we can’t guarantee results for every individual — everyone’s anatomy and situation is different — the vast majority of people who use Snoreguard correctly experience significant improvement in their snoring.

What we can guarantee is this: if Snoreguard doesn’t stop your snoring, you get your money back. We’ll work with you first to make any adjustments that might help. If we ultimately determine that the device isn’t suitable for your situation, we’ll refund your purchase price and help guide you toward alternative options.

We’ve been in business for over thirty years, and this guarantee is a reflection of our confidence in what we do. When your product genuinely works, you can afford to stand behind it.

I’ve tried other anti-snoring devices before and they didn’t work. Why would Snoreguard be different?

This is one of the most common things we hear. Many of our clients have spent years trying various solutions — pharmacy devices, nasal strips, throat sprays, special pillows — without success. The frustration is understandable.

The difference with Snoreguard is customisation. Generic devices are designed to fit as many people as possible, which means they fit no one perfectly. A device that doesn’t fit your mouth precisely can’t position your jaw correctly, and a device that’s uncomfortable won’t get used consistently.

Snoreguard is made specifically for your mouth. The precise fit means it positions your jaw exactly where it needs to be to keep your airway open. And because it’s comfortable, you’ll actually wear it every night.

We’ve helped many people who had given up hope of finding something that worked. Our guarantee means you have nothing to lose by trying.

Can Snoreguard help with sleep apnoea?

Snoreguard can be effective for mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnoea. The mechanism is the same as for snoring — by keeping your airway open, the device can reduce or eliminate the breathing pauses that characterise sleep apnoea.

However, if you suspect you have sleep apnoea, we strongly recommend seeking professional medical assessment. Sleep apnoea is a recognised medical condition with potentially serious health implications. A proper diagnosis ensures you receive the most appropriate treatment for your situation.

For severe sleep apnoea, CPAP therapy may be more appropriate. We’re happy to discuss your situation during a consultation and give you our honest recommendation.

How is Snoreguard different from CPAP?

CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) works by delivering a constant stream of air through a mask worn during sleep. This air pressure keeps the airway open mechanically. CPAP is highly effective, particularly for severe sleep apnoea.

The challenge with CPAP is compliance. Many people find the mask uncomfortable or claustrophobic. The machine makes noise, requires electricity, and is cumbersome to travel with. Studies show that a significant proportion of people prescribed CPAP don’t use it consistently.

Snoreguard offers a simpler alternative for people who can’t tolerate CPAP or whose snoring or sleep apnoea doesn’t require it. There’s no mask, no machine, no noise. You simply wear the device in your mouth while you sleep. It’s portable, discreet, and easy to maintain.

For some people, CPAP is the right choice. For many others, Snoreguard provides effective relief with far greater convenience and comfort.

Care and Longevity

How long does a Snoreguard device last?

With proper care, a Snoreguard typically lasts for many years. We have clients whose devices have lasted seven years or more before needing replacement. The longevity depends on factors like how well the device is cared for and whether you grind your teeth during sleep.

When you consider the cost spread over several years of use, Snoreguard represents excellent value compared to other treatment options.

How do I care for my Snoreguard?

Caring for your Snoreguard is straightforward. Rinse the device with cool water each morning after use. Clean it regularly with a soft toothbrush and mild soap or denture cleaner. Avoid using hot water, which can warp the material.

Store your Snoreguard in the case provided when not in use. Keep it away from pets — dogs in particular seem to find these devices irresistible!

We’ll provide full care instructions when you receive your device.

What if my Snoreguard gets damaged or worn out?

Contact us and we’ll arrange a replacement. If your mouth hasn’t changed significantly, we may be able to use your existing impressions. If it’s been a long time or your dental situation has changed, we’ll take new impressions to ensure the replacement fits perfectly.

────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

Costs and Guarantee

How much does Snoreguard cost?

The cost depends on which of our four device types is appropriate for your situation. We’re happy to discuss pricing during your free consultation once we’ve assessed your needs.

When evaluating cost, consider that a well-maintained Snoreguard typically lasts for many years. Spread over that period, it represents excellent value — especially compared to the ongoing expense of CPAP supplies or the significant cost of surgical procedures.

What exactly does your guarantee cover?

Our guarantee is simple: if Snoreguard doesn’t stop your snoring, you get your money back.

If your device isn’t working as expected, contact us first. Sometimes a small adjustment can make a significant difference. We’ll work with you to understand what’s happening and make modifications where possible.

If, after working through the issues together, we determine that Snoreguard isn’t suitable for your particular situation, we’ll refund your purchase price. We’ll also help guide you toward alternative options that might work better for you.

Is Snoreguard covered by health insurance?

Coverage varies between insurance providers and policies. Some health insurers do cover mandibular advancement devices, particularly when prescribed for diagnosed sleep apnoea. We recommend checking with your insurance provider directly to understand your coverage.

We can provide documentation of your purchase and treatment if needed for insurance claims.
